The Challenge
A client requested a custom-made men’s wig for a fully bald end-user, with very specific requirements for realism and comfort. The main goal was to create a wig that would provide an undetectable, natural appearance, especially in the front and top areas, while also being easy to maintain and attach. The customer emphasized the need for a clear thin skin base that balances durability with invisibility, and insisted on a knotless solution for an ultra-natural look, particularly suitable for a brushed-back hairstyle.
The Solution
To fulfill this request, Bono Hair created the BLN49012 thin skin men’s wig, constructed with 0.14mm clear poly all over and V-loop hair ventilation throughout. This cap design offers a superior natural appearance, especially in high-visibility zones like the hairline and crown. The clear poly material was applied by hand in uniform layers to ensure a smooth, neat, and soft surface, providing both comfort and ease of cleaning. This system was built according to the client’s custom template, ensuring a perfect fit for total scalp coverage.
The Customized Hair Color
The hair system used #17, a custom shade selected from Bono Hair’s men’s custom color ring. This specific tone was chosen to match the end-user’s original hair color, providing a seamless and realistic result. Our technicians ensured even color distribution across the unit, while maintaining the hair’s softness and quality during processing.
The Customized Hair Length
The unit featured 6 inches of Indian hair, long enough to allow barbers or stylists to create various cuts and styles to suit the client’s preference. Indian hair was selected for its natural softness and durability, especially ideal for men's systems seeking medium-light density and a realistic finish. The 4.0 cm curl pattern added a gentle natural wave to enhance texture and volume.
The Customized Size
The customer sent a physical head template marked with the order number, which Bono Hair used to construct the base size precisely. This ensured accurate scalp coverage, edge alignment, and proper adhesion points, all of which are crucial for wearers with full baldness.
The Customized Base
The base was made entirely from 0.14mm clear poly, providing both realistic transparency and medium durability. The thin skin was crafted using a brushed liquid poly technique, applied meticulously to create a smooth, natural-looking surface that’s gentle on sensitive scalps. The system was ventilated using V-looped hair throughout—a method that uses no knots, making it ideal for invisible hairlines and brushed-back styles. This design meets the needs of clients who prioritize realism over extended durability.
The Special Requirements
This custom order was initiated via email, with the client submitting detailed specifications and a physical template by mail. Bono Hair confirmed receipt and finalized the production plan accordingly. As this was a full wig with fully hand-tied construction, the standard production time was 8–10 weeks, which is longer than the typical 6–8 weeks for partial hairpieces due to the larger base size and increased complexity.
